Hurdle says McCutchen got ambushed in the 5th by Shelby Miller
 |
- In the 4th inning of today’s game, Edison Volquez hit Matt Holliday and Matt Adams with pitches back to back. Cardinals starter Shelby Miller countered the next inning by throwing a high fastball that sailed just behind Andrew McCutchen. Manager Clint Hurdle was not happy afterwards. “From my perspective, it was an ambush. It was a cheap shot. Ron’s got to make the call he makes and that’s what he chose to make,” Hurdle said.
