With hot start Pirates brass made quick decision on extending Derek Shelton

The Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday announced the team has signed manager Derek Shelton to a contract extension. Shelton who was entering the final year of his contract had guided the Pirates to a 142-242 record over his first three years as manager. Off to a surprisingly roaring 16-7 start, management quickly made the decision that Shelton is the right manager for the next phase of the Pirates rebuild that just maybe might be getting accelerated……..
