The Pittsburgh Penguins have made a qualifying offer to Dustin Jeffrey, retaining his rights, sources indicate. Jeffrey is a pending restricted free agent.
Jeffrey made $500,000 in 2010-2011 and players making less than $660,000 must be offered 110 percent of last years salary.
Jeffrey’s qualifying offer is for $550,000 (2-way).
Qualifying offers are due to players by June 27th.
The Penguins have high hopes for Jeffrey who is recovering from off-season knee surgery. The Penguins believe he will have a full recovery.
