The Pittsburgh Pirates today optioned pitcher Brad Lincoln (1-4, 6.57 ERA) to Triple-A Indianapolis, following today's start.
The struggles for Lincoln continued today, giving up six runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings pitched in the Pirates 6-3 loss to the San Diego Padres on Sunday afternoon at PNC Park.
The Pirates also announced after today's game that the team has designated reliever Brendan Donnelly for assignment.
More roster moves will be made within the next 24 hours.
