Top prospect Simon Despres sent back to Wilkes Barre

2009 first round pick Simon Despres had a longer than expected callup with the Penguins and the team today announced that Despres has been reassigned to Wilkes Barre/Scranton. Despres played well of late, appearing in 13 games and collecting a goal and 3 assists. Despres is a plus-4 in 13 games

The Penguins are off until Friday and getting healthier on the blueline with Paul Martin fully expected to be ready to return to game action this coming week. The return of Martin would move Despres down to a bottom pairing, something the Penguins don't want as he can get top-2 pairing and special teams minutes in the minors
