The Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday struck a deal with the Vancouver Canucks, acquiring goaltender Arturs Silvos in exchange for Chase Stillman and a 2027 4th round pick. Silvos, 24, was among the top AHL goaltenders in 2024/2025, posting a 14-5-1 record with a .908 SV% and 2.41 GAA. In the postseason is where Silvos really shined; going 16-7 with a 2.01 GAA, .931 SV% and 5 shutouts in leading Abbotsford to the AHL Calder Cup Championship and earning playoff MVP. At the NHL level, though, this was a player who was going to be behind Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen for the foreseeable future and scouts have questioned the NHL upside. Silvos went 2-6-1 with a 3.65 GAA and .861 SV% with the Canucks in 24/25.
