4 - 2
On a night the Penguins looked to be getting ran out of the building, Pittsburgh put together a resilient effort in scoring four unanswered goals, en route to a 4-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. An Evgeni Malkin (1) power play goal 6:37 into the second period, followed by a Connor Dewar (1) goal 41 seconds later jumpstarted Pittsburgh’s comeback on a night the Penguins were lucky to have even brought their ‘C’ Game. Filip Hallander (1) netted his first career NHL goal on a shorthanded marker at 6:50 of the third to put the Penguins ahead 3-2. The goal was setup off a great individual rush from Rickard Rakell. Sidney Crosby (2) would add an empty net goal, while Arturs Silovs rebounded from a poor start plagued by rebound control issues in making 30 saves to improve to 2-1 on the season.
