Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma told reporters following today’s Penguin practice that Sidney Crosby will not play vs the Florida Panthers, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.
The decision for Crosby not to play on the current two game road trip had been expected.
Crosby did not meet with his team of doctors before the team left for Florida on Wednesday and was not looking to receive clearance on their trip, a team source said on Thursday.
Crosby who continues to shine in practice, is expected to be evaluated by early next week when the Penguins begin a three game home stretch.
The word out of the Penguins organization remains the same; All parties involved don’t have a target date in mind as of now.
Notes
Steve Sullivan and Dustin Jeffrey did not practice today. Jeffrey remains off the ice since being recalled on Tuesday. The Penguins expect to keep him out of game action for at least two more weeks.
