Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Marc Andre Fleury has a broken left finger that held him out of today’s practice. Head coach Dan Bylsma said today that Fleury is day-to-day and is regarded as questionable for tomorrow night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Fleury fractured his finger in the second period of Thursday night’s game.
With Fleury unlikely to play, John Curry is preparing to make his first start of the season. Backup goaltender Brent Johnson (lower body) has not been cleared to return to the ice and won’t be ready to play tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, Brooks Orpik (knee) did some light work today but will miss his fourth consecutive game. Orpik is likely to return to the lineup next week.
Orpik’s absence will pave the way for Ben Lovejoy to appear in his fourth straight game.
