Quarterback Byron Leftwich, has agreed to terms on a new deal with the Steelers, Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette first reported. Leftwich received a one year deal. The signing of Leftwich gives the Steelers their top-2 backups in the fold with Charlie Batch resigning last week. Of the two, Batch has been the one to stay healthy, unlike Leftwich who has dealt with injuries the past two seasons. Leftwich is likely to go into the season as the team’s No. 2 QB, despite spending the entire 2011 season on IR. |
