Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby is expected to be sidelined for at least a week.
Head coach Dan Bylsma said after tonight’s 2-1 shootout loss that Crosby has been diagnosed with a mild concussion.
Crosby is believed to have suffered the concussion Saturday night against the Washington Capitals when David Steckel delivered a late hit behind the play. The hit was reviewed by the league but deemed incidental contact.
Crosby was also hit hard by Tampa Bay’s Viktor Hedman last night.
Bylsma did not deny that the injury was suffered in Saturday’s game when asked.
The Penguins are expected to have an off-day on Friday and return to action Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild.
