Pittsburgh Penguins franchise goaltender Marc Andre Fleury has lost his past five decisions and is 1-6 in his last 7 games with a 4.48 GAA and a .870 save percentage. Fleury has also looked uncomfortable of late.
One rumor being floated around is that Fleury is playing through an upper body injury, while a secondary source told me Fleury has an upper left arm injury that has been nagging him for weeks.
Fleury has been out-of-sync of late and even in practice has not looked comfortable with high shots to his glove side.
Gonchar set to return
*Defenseman Sergei Gonchar was set to return to the lineup on Thursday but was held out by head coach Dan Bylsma.
Gonchar did not skate on Friday as the Penguins did not practice, however, there are strong indications that he will be back in the lineup tonight against Toronto.
Gonchar has missed the past four games with a right foot injury. Look for defenseman Martin Skoula to sit as Skoula was benched in Thursday’s game.
Players only Meeting
The Penguins held a “players only meeting” following Thursday’s 7-4 loss. The meeting lasted about 15 minutes.
