The Pittsburgh Pirates (24-17) continued their winning ways Thursday night with a 7-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers (16-23) at PNC Park. Francisco Liriano (2-0, 1.64 ERA) making his Pirates home debut, allowed one run on six hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven and walking three. It was a second straight strong start for Liriano who is 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA. The most promising sign for Liriano has been his stuff as he was touching 96 in the outing. The lefty has 16 strikeouts in two starts. |
