Jarome Iginla is a Boston Bruin afterall. We all know the story of this one in March when Iginla declined a trade to Boston so he could be traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, only to go on to lose to the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Finals. The dominoes fell in place for Iginla after Daniel Alfredsson signed with the Detroit Red Wings. Per Darren Dreger, Iginla received a 1 year, $6 million (performance based) deal from the Bruins. Updated: The deal is heavily performance related with Iginla’s cap hit just $1.8 million.
Matt Cooke is also now officially a former Penguin. Cooke has agreed to a three year deal worth $7.5 million with the Minnesota Wild.
