The Boston Red Sox have had trouble finding any takers for outfielder Willy Mo Pena. The Pirates have expressed an interest in Pena, but a trade to Pittsburgh is unlikely considering Pena would be only be a 2 month rental. Pena is up for arbitration, which is scarying teams away including the Pirates.
Unless a team comes out of nowhere at the last minute, Jack Wilson will not be traded until the off-season.
Linebacker Lawrence Timmons sat out for the third consecutive day. There is no timetable for his return. James Harrison missed practice today with a rib injury. Clark Haggans moved over to right outside linebacker and rookie Lamar Woodley was inserted at the left outside linebacker. Woodley is expected to see lots of action with the 1st team during preseason.
Willie Colon is likely to start on the line but where? Colon is battling Max Starks to be the teams starting right tackle and Mike Tomlin has been a fan of Colon since day 1. If he doesn’t beat out Max Starks, the Steelers will try Colon at center following the 2nd or 3rd preseason game.
