The Pittsburgh Penguins have a day off today but Evgeni Malkin is skating and has been cleared for contact by team doctors. Malkin was given the okay by team doctors this morning.
Malkin’s primary target date for a return has been November 12th against the New Jersey Devils. There is an outside chance that Malkin plays tomorrow night but it will a coaches decision.
The team expects Malkin to be in the lineup Saturday night against Boston.
*Defenseman Sergei Gonchar will have his cast removed in 10-14 days and Gonchar expects to return to the lineup immediately when his cast is removed.
Gonchar has been projected to return around Thanksgiving.
Kennedy to miss Thursday’s game?

Tyler Kennedy remains bothered by a groin injury and is not expected to play against New Jersey. Kennedy has missed 6 of 7 games and has not been on the ice since last Thursday in Los Angeles. The Penguins are being very cautious and don’t want to rush him back.
