The Pouncey brothers, Mike and Maurkice have been sued by three people who say the twin brothers attacked them at a Miami Beach nightclub, according to the Associated Press.
The lawsuit was filed Friday in Miami-Dade Circuit Court on behalf of Ricquan James, Niya Pickett and Brentley Williams. They are seeking more than $15,000 in damages.
In the lawsuit Ricquan James claims he was harassed with homophobic slurs and the Pouncey’s physically attacked him. Niya Pickett who is a woman says she was physically hit by Maurkice Pouncey and posted photos on instagram of a welt on her forehand when the incident happened.
Joe Starkey of 937 The Fan had the lawyer for the trio on his show today, which airs 2-6 P.M. The lawyer claims he has eyewitness counts of the Pouncey’s physically attacking his clients, and he doesn’t shed a good light on Maurkice.
“I was able to get statements from independent witnesses who did not know Ricquan, who did not know Niya at the time, and said, ‘Listen, it was the Pouncey brothers,” Lawyer Marwan Porter told the Hosts. “And not only was it the Pouncey brothers, but Maurkice was the individual who struck Niya and who struck Ricquan.’ And they said that without hesitation, without reservation, and when you have that type of information and testimony from two people, and you look at the credibility of not only your clients but the witnesses who corroborate what was told to us, it’s something you have to move forward on, and they’re going to have to take responsibility for their conduct. You can’t go around doing that.”
