Reliever Daniel Moskos, the Pirates first round pick in 2007, has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Moskos was believed to be battling Chris Leroux, and Jared Hughes for the final one or two bullpen spots. Moskos had a strong spring, posting a 1.00 ERA in 9 innings pitched, while striking out 9. Leroux who is out of options, has struggled in spring training, posting an 8.68 era in 9 1/3 innings pitched. The Pirates have been in the market for bullpen depth, most notably a lefty reliever in recent weeks. |
