TALKS BACK ON

Contract talks between the Steelers and Bus Cook, the agent for Mike Wallace, are back on with the Steelers hoping that Wallace’s demands have come down from where things stood in late July.
It appears though that won’t be the case which makes a deal unlikely.
NFL insider Jason LaCanfora reports the Steelers and receiver Mike Wallace will continue contract dialogue this week, but chances of an extension look slim for now, league sources told LaCanfora.
LaCanfora reports that Wallace remains “fixated” on making $11 million per season but the $11 million per season has little merit as the real issue between the two sides is that the Steelers and Wallace were around $7 million off in guaranteed money in the first two years of the deal previously. The Steelers last offer in July, was somewhat backloaded in years four and five.
Pittsburgh will break off negotiations on September 9th.
