The Steelers offer to linebacker James Harrison remains in the range of $14.5 million guaranteed and the team has no plans to offer Harrison more guaranteed money than what Troy Polamalu ($15.75 million) received in 2007
The Latest Contract Talks
Talks with linebacker James Harrison have not progressed over the past month and
it’s becoming clear that for the two sides to reach a deal, it will have to be on the Steelers terms.
Harrison who will turn 31 in May is on the wrong side of 30 and despite what the Steelers may say publically, they only have interest in a front loaded deal and they are not going to offer more than $15 million guaranteed.
Harrison, 31, is believed to be seeking $25-$30 million guaranteed and despite his high demands would likely to settle for $20-$22 million guaranteed.
Still, too much money for a 31 year old linebacker and don’t be surprised if Harrison goes into the season without a contract extension.
Steelers re-sign LB Keyaron Fox
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the team has re-signed linebacker Keyaron Fox to a two-year, $1.8 million deal today. Fox emerged as a key special teamer for the Steelers last season and a deal has been in placed since mid-March
