Breaking news: Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Bobby Clarke and head coch Ken Hitchcock were fired this morning.
Larry Brooks of the New York Post is reporting that the Penguins are looking to trade Brooks Orpik and John Leclair for some depth at forward and a backup goaltender. The buzzontheburgh has learned this morning, that this rumor is completely false. Orpik is not on the block as Ray Shero is very high on him. He is also not looking into trading John Leclair for right now.
The Buzzontheburgh can also confirm that their is no truth about the rumor three way trade between the Bruins and Canucks. The rumor deal is Canucks get -Murray,Ekman,and Jurcina: Bruins-Cooke and Malone: Pens-Morrison and Fitzpatrick Although the Penguins have been in contact with the Bruins and Canucks since mid-summer this deal is not being discussed. The Canucks are still interested in Michel Quellet. The Quellet – Cooke deal was on the table in the summer but fell through because Mike Therrien talked Ray Shero out of it. Therrien is a big Quellet fan.
