MORNING SKATE BUZZ
As the Penguins prepare this morning for tonight’s clash with the physical Boston Bruins, it appears Deryk Engelland might be sitting for a second straight game.
The Penguins top-3 D-pairs this morning remained the same as Sunday night’s game against the New York Islanders.
Brooks Orpik and Paul Martin continue to work as the top pairing, Mark Eaton and Kris Letang as the second pair and Simon Despres and Matt Niskanen as the third pair. Indications after Sunday’s game was that Mark Eaton appeared set to get a long look with Kris Letang in a No. 2 pairing role over the next handful of games and that appears to be the case.
Deryk Engelland and Robert Bortuzzo look like the two healthy scratches tonight. Evgeni Malkin is the only player not skating this morning.
