MARTIN ON HURRICANES RADAR

The Pittsburgh Penguins granted permission to the Carolina Hurricanes to interview assistant coach Jacques Martin. The permission was granted last week.
Louis Jean of TVA Sports reports Martin interviewed with Carolina on Tuesday.
The Penguins entire coaching staff remains in place for now but assistants are being allowed to interview elsewhere. No team has requested permission to interview head coach Dan Bylsma but the Florida Panthers are monitoring his situation and would like to interview him if he is fired.
Bylsma is not expected to be a candidate for the Hurricanes. They are looking to hire a coach for under $1 million per season, believed to be in the $850,000 range which is very low for a coach. Bylsma is making over $2.3 million the next two years.
