Pens Pre-Game Buzz
Penguins forward Richard Park traveled with the team to Philadelphia but Park will not be able to give it a go for tonight’s game due to a leg injury, leaving the Penguins down to activating Steve MacIntyre off of Injured Reserve or recalling a forward if the team wants to dress 12 forwards in the game.
MacIntyre who has been practicing despite being on injured reserve, is believed to be healthy enough to play if need be.
He did skate on the 4th line with Craig Adams and Arron Asham in the morning skate.
Joe Vitale has replaced Sidney Crosby at center between Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis.
The Penguins have until 5:00 p.m. today to take MacIntyre off of injured reserve for him to play tonight.
— Deryk Engelland who hasn’t been on the ice since Saturday night due to a lower body injury, is participating in the Penguins morning skate.
Engelland did not practice on Wednesday, and as of yesterday, wasn’t expected to play tonight. It would be a surprise if Engelland played. A contact on the scene tells me that Engelland took some reps with the top-3 D-pairs but not many.
— Goaltender Brent Johnson did not participate in the skate.
