Morning Skate Report
Following the morning skate, Pittsburgh’s Evgeni Malkin looks to now be a possibility to play tonight, despite not skating with any of the top-4 lines during the morning skate.
Malkin will be a coaches decision as Bylsma told reporters that Malkin is a game time decision tonight but Malkin said following the morning skate that he expects to play.
Malkin has been looking to return tonight or tomorrow night against the New York Rangers. He has missed the past four games due to a sore knee.
His skating in Monday’s practice was strong but he still doesn’t seem to be getting full power from his legs during cross-overs.

Chris Kunitz did skate this morning on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Pascal Dupuis. He is also a game time decision.
Dustin Jeffrey remains on the 4th line with Craig Adams and Mike Rupp but his status is unknown if Malkin were to play.
With Philadelphia’s Jody Shelley suspended, Eric Godard is not expected to play.
Deryk Engelland will return to the lineup tonight after being a healthy scratch Saturday night.
