TIOPS contributor and baseball insider John Perrotto of piratesreport.com has learned, the Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired acquired outfielder Delwyn Young in a trade from the Los Angeles Dodgers for two players to be named.
The switch-hitting Young, 26, batted .246 in 83 games for the Dodgers last season and will likely replace infielder Luis Cruiz on the roster, according to Perrotto.
Young can also play
second base. Perrotto tells me he doesn’t expect the Pirates to “cut bait” with outfielder Craig Monroe just yet.
More details to come in the morning
