The Pittsburgh Pirates are in the mix for former San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson and considered a strong suitor. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports Wilson has 5 offers on the table from 4 NL teams and 1 AL team. Nightengale calls the Pirates and Diamondbacks a strong front runner.
A team source told Inside Pittsburgh Sports over the weekend that Wilson “looked ready” when throwing in front of scouts on Thursday. Wilson hasn’t pitched in 15 months.
