Pirates have “zero intent” of sending Kang to the minors
Jo Hung Kang today officially signed a four year contract worth $11 million guaranteed with a $5.5 million club option for 2019. The Pirates have all intentions of Kang immediately playing in the majors as a “complementary player” at SS, 2B, and 3B to start off, though, the Pirates believe he will become a starter at some point. “We have zero intent of sending Kang to Minor Leagues,” GM Neal Huntington said Friday afternoon.
