Byrd, 36, is hitting .271 with 20 home runs and 60 RBIs. Byrd is due $8 million next season and a club option in 2016 that can be triggered based on plate appearances, has been said to be an issue for some clubs.
Byrd’s 2016 $8 million club option becomes guaranteed with 600 plate appearances in 2015 or 1,100 PAs in 2014-15, including 550 PAs in 2015.
Byrd has 406 PA’s right now.
