RANGERS 3 – PENGUINS 1
A passionate New York Rangers team frustrated the Penguins and a poor start did the Penguins in once again as the series is heading to a Game 7 Tuesday night in Pittsburgh.
The Rangers built off their Game 5 win with a 3-1 win tonight in Game 6 at Madison Square Garden to tie the series at 3-3.
New York scored twice in the first 6:25 of the game on goals from Marty St. Louis and Carl Hagelin and never let the Penguins take control of the game.
Derek Brassard who has had a strong series also scored in the win.
Henrik Lundqvist was excellent in goal, making 36 saves in the win. Lundqvist is playing at the top of his game right now, a scary thought for a Penguins team that just doesn’t have any answers right now.
The Rangers with all the momentum going into Game 7, were the better team tonight from start to finish, despite being outshot 37-29.
