Alleged incident at a Orlando nightclub
More trouble looming for the Pittsburgh Steelers? Star wide receiver Santonio Holmes has been hit with a civil lawsuit for assault and battery of a woman in a Orlando, Florida nightclub on March 7, 2010.
According to court documents, the civil action was filed on March 24th by a woman named Anshonoe Mills.
Court documents reveal that no police report was filed at the time of incident but Mills alleges that Holmes put his hand in her face while attempting to make her leave a VIP couch inside the nightclub.
Holmes then allegedly threw a glass filled with alcohol in her face, which apparently caused a laceration above Mills right eye and according to the court document, allegedly caused temporary blindness in Mills eye.
Mills contends Holmes attacked her because he wanted a place on a couch.
Mills also alleges that Holmes offered her money to make the situation go away because he was a NFL star and could get into trouble by the Steelers and the NFL.
Holmes, 25, is entering the final year of his contract and has previously been tabbed as a top priority by Steelers management.
Joel Segal, the agent for Santonio Holmes, had no comment when reached by phone about the alleged incident.
Holmes arrived in Pittsburgh this weekend and was expected to report for voluntary workouts today. The Steelers have told quarterback Ben Roethlisberger not to report, due to a sexual assault investigation in Georgia.
