As expected forward Miroslav Satan will join the Penguins for the playoffs. Satan has been placed on re-entry waivers and will join the team on Friday.
Satan will travel with the team to Montreal this weekend according to a team source.
The plan since the Penguins re-assigned Satan, was to bring him up for the playoffs where there is no salary cap.
During the negotiations between agent Allan Walsh and Penguins brass,
the Penguins told Walsh and Satan, that he would be given the opportunity to see some playing time in the playoffs. While that seems like a smoke screen from the Penguins, Walsh and Satan bought it.
Receiving his full salary also played a factor in joining Wilkes Barre, but one of the main reasons of going to Wilkes Barre was perception.
By reporting to Wilkes Barre, it makes him look like a good professional.
Chicago and St. Louis showed interest in Satan at the trade deadline. Satan will not be claimed on re-entry waivers.
