A few tidbits I’ve been able to gather today
Sources tell me Leafs forward Nik Antropov is not on the Penguins radar, he is not seen as a good fit.
Columbus, Boston, Florida, Buffalo, Chicago, and LA are among the teams that are currently pursuing Antropov. Check out the NHL Trade Deadline Chart for the rest.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports, the Chicago Blackhawks and left winger Martin Havlat have conducted discussions on a long-term extension. I’m hearing a two-three year deal worth $4 million per season has been discussed. Havlat is in the last year of a 3 year – $18 million deal he signed three seasons ago.
The surging Kings and Panthers along with the Buffalo Sabres are among the most active teams in trade talks right now.
If the Panthers are going to move Nathan Horton it won’t be until the draft.
Sharks enforcer Jody Shelley (lower body injury) will not be in the lineup tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

This could be an opportunity for Chris Minard to return to the lineup and Eric Godard to be a healthy scratch. Godard should not have dressed against the Red Wings. There was no reason to dress him in that game.
A source tells me Shero is luke warm on Tkachuk, the asking price is too high. The Blues don’t appear willing to take on any salary because they are broke. The asking price is lower for Bill Guerin who the Penguins are currently in on.
I’m waiting to hear back from a source in St. Louis about what the exact asking price will be for Tkachuk but right now I don’t expect the Penguins to be a major player for him. That’s why I haven’t added them to the rumor chart just yet,
I have received confirmation that the Kings have indeed asked about Miroslav Satan. Don’t know why but they are searching for offense.
More to come later in the day
