Injury News for Thursday Night
Emmanuel Sanders, the Steelers No. 3 receiver has been officially ruled out for Thursday night’s game vs the Cleveland Browns. Sanders is dealing with a foot and knee injury. On a short-week, the Steelers feel it is important to be cautious with Sanders.
Sanders joins Arnaz Battle, Jonathan Dwyer, Chris Carter and Chris Hoke as players who are officially ruled out.
Meanwhile, the Steelers will be getting one linebacker back on the field and another heads back to the sidelines.
LaMarr Woodley is officially listed as doubtful but the Steelers have no plans for him to play. Woodley did not practice this week after suffering a setback in Sunday’s game.
The Steelers are working to get Woodley back in the lineup for next Monday night’s game against the San Francisco 49ers on December 19th, but there should be no rush to get Woodley back in the lineup and letting Woodley return on December 19th would have him playing the following game on a short week with the Steelers playing on Christmas Eve, a Saturday.
Larry Foote who has been nursing a mild hamstring injury, is a go for tomorrow and will be back on the field.
Starting right guard Ramon Foster is expected to play and start, despite a lower ankle injury.
Notes
For the Browns, starting safety T.J. Ward has been ruled out of Thursday’s game and starting free safety Mike Adams is questionable with a shoulder injury.
Running back Peyton Hillis was limited in today’s practice and is officially listed as questionable.
