Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Penguins received a scare Saturday night when winger Ruslan Fedotenko took a punishing hit from Islanders defenseman Brendan Witt.
Fedotenko who scored a third period goal against the Islanders sat out practice on Monday but returned to the ice this morning. Fedotenko will play against the Coyotes on Wednesday.
*When winger Chris Bourque dresses for a game, it’s going to be with
Evgeni Malkin and Ruslan Fedotenko. Bourque took a a few shifts on a the second line today although Pascal Dupuis took the majority of the shifts.
Off to a strong start, head coach Dan Bylsma has no plans to split up the Penguins third line of Matt Cooke – Jordan Staal and Tyler Kennedy.
The Penguins have three games in four days this week including a showdown with the Flyers on Thursday.
Marc Andre Fleury will start against the Coyotes and Flyers with Brent Johnson expected to play in one of the next four games.
Sidney Crosby indicated today that he is having no issues with his injured groin.
