Grading Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers first team offense throughout camp, at best you’re giving them a C+. Though much better over the last week, there’s been some rocky outings. None of it matters, though, to those in charge. Everything the Steelers see from Rodgers on the field and off the field, the group of coaches whose opinions actually matter, have been in awe from the start. Questions about the foot speed is totally warranted especially with the elephant in the room at left tackle in Broderick Jones, Steelers coaches strongly feel Rodgers can still make any throw into tight pockets and feel the cerebral aspect from Rodgers is going to be night and day from Russell Wilson as the likes of OC Arthur Smith on down felt Wilson became exposed as a one trick pony by good defensive coordinators late in the 2024 season. Perfect fit for Arthur Smith’s offense is certainly a feeling going around in camp on the belief inside Steelers circles that Rodgers still has that ‘IT’ factor to beat any defense with his arm and eyes. At worst the Steelers are banking on Top-12 QB level play from Rodgers combine with what they feel is the best defense in years……….

More Camp Buzz: Historic Defense?

— Was Minkah Fitzpatrick that big of an issue against elite caliber teams and is Jalen Ramsey really that good? The last couple weeks everything coming out of Saint Vincent is how damn good Jalen Ramsey still is and what a fit he is for this system. It even has Mike Tomlin talking historic things for the Steelers defense. “We feel really good about the prospects of this group,” Tomlin said in an interview with 102.5 DVE, the Steelers flagship. “We gotta write that story. But, we’ve got enough talent, we’ve got enough schematics to do big, big thing. And when i say big things, I’m talking about historic things.” Quite the quote from Tomlin who is always big about what happens under the lights not what he’s seeing in shorts.
