Erik Karlsson will be out a minimum of two weeks with a lower body injury, the Penguins announced this morning. The team has recalled forward Tristan Broz and defenseman Ryan Graves from WBS Penguins.
Karlsson who has had a major bounce back season, has become a do-it-all player under the Penguins new coaching staff and has even been relied upon on the PK. Karlsson’s loss is likely to be felt tremendously throughout the lineup and puts more stress on the Penguins becoming reliant on an aging Kris Letang.
Pittsburgh has seven games in the next 12 days and hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight.
