The NHLPA executive board has voted to keep the 5 percent growth factor in the salary cap. It was announced today.
The salary cap will now rise upwards of $2 million and is expected to be in the low $59 million range.
The Penguins have just under $47 million committed to 16 players and will have about $11 million to spend in free agency as Pens GM Ray Shero likes to be $700,000 – $1 million under the cap for callups and potential trades.
