The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Brian Strait from Wilkes Barre/Scranton, the team announced this afternoon. The Penguins are hurting on the blueline after Matt Niskanen appeared to have reaggravated a shoulder injury, leaving last night’s game. Strait has played very well in his past couple stints with the team and has passed Robert Bortuzzo and Simon Despres on the organizational depth chart. Overall, Strait has appeared in seven games with the Penguins, posting an even rating.
