For the second straight year, the Washington Capitals have resigned Alexander Semin to a one year extension. The deal is worth $6.7 million and the 26 year old winger is signed through the 2011-2012 season.

Semin made $6 million this season and has 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points in 39 games played this season.
Even with the Semin signing, the Capitals are in great cap position for next season as they have approximately $45.8 million committed to 17 players for 2011-2012.
