According to the Pirates, starting pitcher Charlie Morton had tommy john surgery today and will be sidelined for 12-18 months. Morton’s surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Florida.
Morton was 2-6 with a 4.65 ERA. Last season Morton had a breakout year, going 10-10 with a 3.83 ERA, logging a team high 171.2 innings.
