Sidney Crosby POST-GAME REACTIONS
For the second straight loss, the Penguins were outworked.

“We’ve basically been outworked past two games and there’s no excuses for that,” Sidney Crosby said.
The Penguins were plagued by poor defensive zone play, most notably playing way too loose with their defensive zone coverage and not being aware of basic assignments with their rotation.
“Last couple games hasn’t been good,” Crosby said of the Penguins d-zone play. “Loose on our coverage. We can’t expect to show up in teams buildings and expect to win. Our focus has to be on our work ethic,” Crosby said.
Being outworked is something that’s becoming a trend a bit too much this season as the Penguins seem to feel some nights that their skill is always going to get the job down.
“Tonight we gave up four goals in around our net, defensive zone coverage, blue paint,” head coach Dan Bylsma said. “We weren’t very good in that area and let our goaltender out to dry.”
“Look at plays tonight it’s a lack of execution,” Bylsma said when asked about whether the issues are a lack of personnel or system. “Awareness of situation, we weren’t on top of it on our assignments.”
Notes: Paul Martin suffered a lower body injury, head coach Dan Bylsma said.
