Rangers forward Markus Naslund tells Newsday that he is looking to rebound after a few subpar seasons in Vancouver. Naslund a 2008 free agent signee of the Rangers, turned down offers from the Canucks, Penguins, Wild. Naslund recorded 25 goals – 30 assists and 55 points last season with Vancouver. Naslund is expected to start the season on a line with Scott Gomez.
Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff tells the Buffalo News that the Sabres need to get back into playoff contention. In the past two seasons the Sabres have lost Chris Drury, Daniel Breire to free agency and traded star defenseman Brian Campbell to San Jose at last years trade deadline. The Sabres did not make any major moves this summer.
