The Penguins coaching search might be taking another twist. Darren Dreger of TSN reports he’s “hearing Desjardins is no longer a slam dunk following meeting last night.”
Pittsburgh brought Desjardins to town last night with the intentions of working out an agreement to name him their new head coach but potential complications could include term of a contract and assistant coaches.

If things fall through with Desjardins, speculation will mount on Ulf Samuelsson who had been one of Jim Rutherford’s primary considerations but it has remained unclear if Ulf Samuelsson has wanted the job.
