Penguins center Evgeni Malkin will be sidelined multiple weeks with an injury suffered in the second period Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

[hide] Citing Malkin as having a “longer term” injury, the good news with the injury is that it’s not season threatening, head coach Mike Sullivan said moments ago. In addition to Malkin, Sullivan also confirmed third line center Nick Bjugstad as having a “longer term” injury, but noted Malkin will be on the shelf a bit longer than Bjugstad.
