Wilkes Barre, PA — In a game that had plenty of altercations, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers scored with 10 seconds remaining in the third period to upend the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 Saturday night at the Wachovia Center.
The loss was the Penguins second straight loss as the Penguins fall to 1-2-0 on the season.
After being shutout 3-0 Friday night, the inability to score goals has been an issue through the first three games of the season. The story of the game though was the middle of the second period which looked like a scene from the movie Slap Shot.
At 9:19 of the second period, 10 fighting majors combined were awarded between the two teams.
Saturday night was another promising game for prospect

*Luca Caputi. Caputi played an aggressive game and scored a power play goal at 13:27 of the second period. He also received a fighting major in the second period. He played with the kind of intensity that he needs to play with to crack the (NHL) Penguins lineup at some point this season.
*Ryan Bayda has looked dis-interested in his first two games in a Penguins uniform.
*John Curry made 29 saves on 31 shots and made a number of key saves.
*The chances have been there for Wilkes Barre. They had 36 shots on the night and five power play opportunities.
*Wilkes Barre has five days off before returning to action on October 16th.
