University of Florida wide receiver Louis Murphy headlines the final group of draft prospects visiting the Steelers today.
cornerback Ellis Lankster of West Virginia, cornerback Mike Mickens of Cincinnati are the others visiting the Steelers today.
Of the three, Murphy is the most intriguing prospect and a player that head coach Mike Tomlin came away very impressed with at Florida’s pro day.
West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Ohio State and Florida were the four pro days that Tomlin attended this off-season.
Scouting Report on Murphy

Height: 6-2 | Weight: 202 | 40-Time: 4.43
Murphy has very good size and bulk, terrific athlete and has excellent speed, running a 4.43 forty yard dash.
Physical at the line of scrimmage and is quick off the line, with an excellent first couple steps.
Very good at catching the ball in traffic and has deep threat ability.
Steelers scouts believe Murphy has all the tools to be a receiver that could replace Hines Ward long-term.
Murphy wasn’t overly productive in college (38 receptions – 655 yards – 7 TD – 17.2 AVG) but scouts believe he is one of those players who will be more productive at the next level.
