Forward Max Talbot will likely return to the lineup Thursday night but the status of Bill Guerin and Tyler Kennedy is up in the air.
Head coach Dan Bylsma indicated today that he was unsure as to whether either player will be available tomorrow night.
Guerin, practiced today with a non-contact jersey, while Kennedy did not practice. Guerin is bothered by a “nagging” upper body injury. Kennedy’s injury is undisclosed.
Meanwhile, Talbot looked much improved today, after being very limited over the weekend.
Defenseman Alex Goligoski has already been ruled out for Thursday night’s game. Eric Godard (knee) is not expected to play against Ottawa but there has been no official word to this point. He is still being evaluated.
More Injury Buzz……

*The Penguins will make at least two call-ups, maybe 3, in advance of tomorrow night’s game.
*Nick Johnson and Chris Conner will be the first two call-ups with Mark Letestu a strong contender for the third callup as Craig Adams expected to play right wing with Jordan Staal and Matt Cooke, if Kennedy is unable to go.
I’m told not to look for Kennedy to suit up and indications are the team wants Guerin to sit until Sunday.
Not that there has been any indications that this is going to happen but Ryan Bayda has been heavily scouted of late and when healthy has shown to deserve a callup.
He’s a valuable role player that is drawing some interest around the league but most importantly can help the Penguins.
*On Alex Goligoski — he had an MRI on Tuesday but that’s the extent of the info that’s being leaked. If injury is long-term, Ben Lovejoy will be back up.
A source in Goligoski’s camp told me at this point all he can say is that Goligoski’s going to miss a few games.
