I’m crazy, but i’d put a 1 year slighlty above vet min deal out there to Vernon Davis and see if he bites. He could put up HUGe numbers on this team, get a fat paycheck the year after, and then turn back into the dog he is. Steelers need JP Holtz!
You’re right. You’re crazy.
You want to offer a minimal salary with a minimal term to an easily erasable contract for a player who may or may not be a value? Craziest thing I’ve ever heard.
And JP Holtz is an average college tight end, which typically translates into a garbage CFLer turned insurance salesman. Don’t believe me? Ask Nate Byham, Kris Wilson, Erik Gill
Pittsburgh fans just yell HEEEAAATHHH every time they saw a white guy catch it anyway.
Tell me that didn’t happen when Spaeth or James caught it.
We need sam to officially break this to us.
Weak free agent tight end class. I think we have 4 very good wideouts next year. I’d go cheap on tight end and put the money into a safety. Between Bell catching passes and the four wideouts I think we get more bang for our buck spending on a safety. Might even clear enough cap space to make a play on eric berry but weedle would fit our budget much better.
But best wishes to him….. He will be missed.
Well that means the job goes to Jessy James. I just feel like had he stuck it out one more year he could have gone out like Bettis.
Seems smart of MIller. He’s had a long career. Made enough money and isn’t a difference maker anymore. Only reason to stick around is the salary, but he probably has enough that risking wear and tear on an older body isn’t worth it.
I expected an inexpertive breakdown as to why Heath Miller retired. I forgot DePaoli likes to copy and paste other people’s work too.
Stanch broke this story.
DePaoli gave me no credit.
HEEEEEEEEEAAATTTHHHHH
he was a great steeler
Good for him. Too many concussions over the years. Don’t risk another. Truly a great Steeler!
