Insider Only NCAA Tournament March Madness Updates

Day 1 Updates
March Madness is underway and it’s been a thrilling first day.

Notre Dames falls to Old Dominion

**Despite a strong finish to the season, many thought No. 6 Notre Dame was over-seeded and the Irish were knocked off by No. 11 Old Dominion 51-50 this afternoon in what was the first official upset of the day
Notre Dame struggled from three point range and Frank Hassell scored 15 points to lead Old Dominion to victory, which had not won an NCAA tournament game since beating Villanova in triple overtime in 1995 as a No. 14 seed.

Colonials take Villanova to Overtime

**No. 2 Villanova survived a major scare, beating the No. 15 Robert Morris Colonials 73-70 in overtime. The Wildcats trailed for much of the game as the Colonials played a phenomenal game. Karon Abraham scored 23 points for Robert Morris, which was on the brink of becoming only the fifth No. 15 seed to beat a No. 2 and the first since 2001.
Foul trouble and a lack of depth was the Colonials downfall in the final minutes of the game.
The Wildcats entered the tournament as a surprise No. 2 seed losing 5 of 7 games and there’s been some trouble off the floor as leading scorer Scottie Reynolds was bench at the start of the game.
Villanova heads into the second round as a vulnerable No. 2 seed and were very lucky to get past Robert Morris.

No. 7 BYU beats Florida in 2OT

**BYU which is regarded as a dangerous No. 7 seed, needed double overtime to upend No. 10 Florida. Jimmer Fredette led BYU to the thrilling win, scoring 37 points, including two 3-pointers in double overtime, to seal the Cougars’ 99-92 win in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.

No. 13 Murray State shocks No. 4 Vanderbilt

Murray State, the champions out of the Ohio Valley Conference shocked No. 4 Vanderbilt as Danero Thomas hit a game winning basket with time expiring as Murray State upended Vanderbilt 66-65 in the second first round upset of the day.
